Tipi Wedding Photographer
I really enjoyed photographing this relaxed festival tipi wedding in Essex. These guys were so chilled out and requested lots of natural photos of their guests having fun – which is ideal for me as this is exactly what I love to photograph! We also got some lovely outdoor couple portraits together and of course I made sure to capture all the little DIY details they’d put so much effort into. This day was so lovely from the beginning; A gorgeous tiny village church, a farm reception, BBQ, ice cream van and a lot of DIY wedding decor. It’s a feast for the eyes and inspiration heaven! I’ve been really looking forward to sharing it with you all.
I’ve included lots of photos for you to look through. There’s so much inspiration here if you’re planning your own summer tipi wedding. Enjoy!

Laid back Wedding Outfits
Ally – not one for the conventional, fell in love with one of the bridesmaid dresses from Monsoon’s wedding collection and decided to wear it herself! Her four bridesmaids wore floral dresses from Next and all looked stunning.
Edd had opted for a tweed suit from Slaters. Complete with Peaky Blinder’s style newsboy cap. His groomsmen looked fab too, all in suits and caps of various styles

Ally & Ed got married at their local village church in Great Wakering.

Relaxed Tipi Wedding Reception
Ally & Ed have some great friends and were able to use one of their friends farm to host their tipi wedding reception. They used the awesome guys at Events Under Canvas to hire their tipi and glamping tents from. I’d highly recommended them if you are looking for tipi hire in the South East!

DIY Wedding Inspiration
Ally and Edd spent months putting together all the little touches for their day. I loved the table plan they’d designed using a map of the UK and naming tables after all the places that mean the most to them. The inside of the tipi was decorated with paper lanterns, wooden pallets, photos of their loved ones and origami animals that they’d spent hours upon hours folding. It was worth all that time and effort, the tipi looked incredible!

Keen gardeners Ally and Edd have their own allotment and grew half their wedding flowers themselves. These were then arranged by Ally’s mum who is a talented florist. As another nod to their love of the outdoors each guest was gifted packets of chilli and wildflower seeds.

Local Essex Wedding Suppliers
One of my favourite things about Ally and Ed’s day was that they’d shopped local as much as possible. Rossi’s ice cream van went down an absolute treat (Rossi’s have a parlour on the seafront if you’re ever in Southend) and the bar was provided by their local pub, The Plough & Sail. Their wonderful dinosaur cake (yes, dinosaurs, brilliant) was baked by Dena’s Cakes based in their village.
