Ridge Farm Wedding Photography
Ridge Farm wedding venue is such a cool place to host your wedding day. When I got booked to photograph here I was so excited. As a huge Freddie Mercury fan I was excited to see the recording studio where Queen once worked. Alongside the fact this venue has a cool history, it’s also really beautiful. The farmhouse is really rustic and makes for a great location for bride and groom photos. Ridge Farm also has extensive grounds and there are so many places to take awesome wedding photos. I love being able to explore venue grounds and I love rustic buildings too. It’s the perfect wedding venue for my relaxed and colourful style of wedding photography.
They also offer outdoor wedding blessings, which I love photographing! I love working with natural light and unique venues to achieve great wedding photos. This venue is amazing inside and out and is a cool wedding venue for your Surrey Wedding.
Ridge Farm Wedding Venue
Ridge farm is nestled away in Dorking, near the Sussex / Surrey boarder. The 16th century farmhouse is soaked in history and has been host too many guests from all walks of life.
Ridge Farm can host up to 150 day guests and offers exclusive use of the whole venue for the entire weekend! I love this as it allows couples to relax and make the most of their wedding venue. Why have a wedding day when you can have a whole wedding weekend!?
Exclusive use of Ridge Farm includes use of the farmhouse, the Granary, tennis court, grounds and the poolhouse with a spa and sauna! The also have a camping area for guests should you wish to have guests camp too!
Wedding Photos around Ridge Farm Grounds
Ridge Farm boast 14 acres of land. It includes an apple orchard, tennis court, vegetable garden, ponds and lots of beautiful scenery. It comes as no surprise this made me very happy! As a wedding photographer I was spoilt for choice when it came to choosing locations for the wedding photos.
Ridge Farm Barn Recording Studio
In 1975 the barn at Ridge Farm opened as a residential recording studio and started to attract artists such as Queen and Ozzy Osbourne. It was an ideal place for artists to come and work whilst being able to hide from the spotlight. Many artists such as Pearl Jam, Wet Wet Wet and Oasis produced multi-platinum selling albums in the old barn. In the early 00’s it closed it’s doors as a recording studio.
The Farmhouse
The farmhouse is a Self-catering accommodation that can sleep up to 24 people! Don’t worry – There is a separate bridal cottage so you can have your own space!
Inside the farmhouse there are many gold discs and items showcasing it’s music history dotted around which is great for any wedding couples who are into their music!
The farmhouse still retains the majority of its original features along with new additions added. It really does make for unique accommodation. Not to mention a great backdrop for some wedding photos.
The Granary at Ridge Farm
The Granary is a single bedroom cottage located nearby to the farmhouse. It has it’s own balcony where you can enjoy views of the farm as newlyweds! Oh and it’s another great spot for some wedding photos!
Poolhouse Reception Party
The pool house is converted into a reception room for your wedding night and the bar stays open till 2am! Don’t worry though, it’s restored to a pool by 12pm the next day so you can enjoy your first day as newlyweds by the poolside (perhaps nursing a slightly sore head!)
Ridge farm also provides wedding couples with gas barbecues & bathing towels so you can really make the most of your time at the venue. They’ve honestly thought of everything!

What accommodation options are there near Ridge Farm?
Both the The Old Joinery & Style Hurst Farm are located near by. Ridge Farm also offers 5 furnished bell tents (with electricity and plenty home comforts) Ridge Farm also allow extra guests to camp.
Can I get married outside at Ridge Farm?
Outdoor weddings are still not legal in the UK, but Ridge Farm does offer outdoor blessings. You could get legally married in one of the nearby churches. Or get legally married on a day close to your wedding and host an outdoor wedding blessing at Ridge Farm.
Can I choose my own wedding catering at Ridge Farm?
Ridge Farm is a self catering venue which allows couples to choose their own caterers. Ridge Farm is happy to help and make suggestions, but ultimately you can choose whoever you like.
Does Ridge Farm charge corkage?
Nope! Ridge farm doesn’t charge corkage meaning you can supply all your own alcohol. This is a great way to save some money and choose whatever drinks you like. Ridge farm will also provide bar staff.
