Looking for Pippley Walled Garden Wedding Photographer?
Some wedding venues just lend themselves to photography, and Pippley Walled Garden is one of those.
Nestled behind some old brick walls in Nottinghamshire, it has this really casual feel to it that somehow manages to be both smart and completely no fuss all at the same time. You go through the gates and it all clicks into place why so many couples fall in love with this venue. The gardens are stunning but not too manicured, the light falls beautifully through the orangery and their are so many little nooks and hidden spots which make for a great photos!
As a professional wedding photographer, venues like this are literally a dream to photograph at! Lots of beautiul natural light, inside and out. Even on cloudy days the gardens and glasshouse still make for incredible photo opportunities.
The last couple I photographed there had beautiful sunny weather all day. The marquee sides were rolled up & guests spilled out onto the grass with drinks in hand, whilst I snuck off with the couple for some golden hour portraits in the garden.

Why I Love Photographing Weddings at Pippley Walled Garden
Many venues appear beautiful online, but can seem surprisingly limited when you start photographing a real wedding there. Pippley Walled Garden is not like that at all.
Everything flows naturally. Guests sift between the gardens and marquee, people settle in easily and so gives a little air for the day to breathe. It might not seem like a big deal, but it really makes a world of difference from a photography viewpoint, people relax much quicker and just be themselves.
That is normally when all the best photographs happen.
The greenhouse/orangery outdoor ceremony space is such a wonderful outdoor space. Climbing greenery spills over the old brick walls and glass roof, creating a rustic but beautiful and natural feel. No need for distracting flash photography during wedding ceremonies here!
There are also lots of little pockets of texture and colour, which work great in photos. Blossom and fresh greens everywhere in spring, roses and long evenings in summer, all these vibes plus a softer quieter atmosphere through the whole venue that also looks stunning during photos in the autumn.
I think the thing I love about Pippley Walled Garden though, is that it never feels quite too manicured. I love that it feels like a hidden garden, very Alice in Wonderland! Guests are welcome to kick off their shoes to sit out on the grass with a drink and just enjoy the day! These are the type of candid photos I love to capture, whilst trying to remain subtle with my huge camera and lens! Somehow I always manage it though 🙂

Relaxed Wedding Photography at Pippley Walled Garden
The way I photograph weddings has always been very natural, I love to photograph weddings as they happen and capture real moment for joy, which Pippley Walled Garden fits rather nicely with.
During Faye & Olis Wedding, Faye walked into the ceremony to an acoustic version of Beyoncé before bringing out the Hot 8 Brass Band to perform after. Her main focus was to have fun and for her guests to have fun, she definitely achieved it! Later in the afternoon people were lying on the grass basking in the sunshine while others struggled to haul themselves onto a giant plastic zebra called Benedict. It was so much fun and obviously I made sure to capture all those moments on camera.
It is these moments that I always love to shoot the most because they are the ones that will bring back memories year after year.
Pippley Walled Garden is also great for portraits of course. On sunny days you can choose the big open field and really capture the bright sunlight or golden hour, or you can head into the garden and capture dappled light fallling through the apple arches and along the garden paths. And of course the greenhouse, cherry blossom tree, brick walls and flowers all make for great photos too. Even when it’s not a sunny day this venue has so much character you can always achieve fantastic photos.
