Engaged couple smiling whilst holding each other in front of The Ouse Valley Viaduct

Relaxed & Natural Engagement Shoot

The Ouse Valley Viaduct is a secluded spot in Sussex, perfect for a stunning engagement photoshoot on a summer’s afternoon. For Bryan & Jessica, the viaduct holds a special part in their hearts, as it was a direct line between the couple when they first got together. The beautiful viaduct is conveniently situated almost directly half way between the couple, so they’d often meet there to enjoy the stunning views in each other’s company. Being allowed to visit this special place with them and to capture some intimate moments between the couple really did mean the world to me.

Oh, and in case you are interested in visiting yourselves: If you’re traveling by train then the closest station to The Ouse Valley Viaduct is Haywards Heath. From here it’s a short drive, however parking is quite tricky. Luckily for us Byran & Jessica’s best man had offered to give us a lift and collect us again after

Ouse Valley Viaduct Photo Shoot

I’d researched the Ouse Valley Viaduct before the day and had plenty of ideas in mind for some great shots. I knew already that it would make for a beautiful location, however it still blew me away on the day.

We had timed our arrival at the Viaduct perfectly. The sun was starting to set just as we were finishing up our photo session, making for deep, rich, golden sunlight; the Ideal colour for capturing romantic, warm shots under the stone arches.

It was lovely getting to know the couple like this before their wedding. Engagement shoots are a great way to not only get used to being in front of the camera, but to get used to your photographer too. We spend a lot of time together on your wedding day, so you want to make sure you feel comfortable in each others company 🙂

I absolutely loved this engagement shoot and it certainly got me excited to photograph their wedding day at Long Furlong Barn – another stunning and picturesque Sussex wedding venue; this couple have great taste!

If you’re interested in having your own engagement shoot then I’d love to hear from you. Head over to the contact page to get in touch.
