Relaxed & Natural Wedding Photographer
I photograph weddings in a natural, relaxed style, and this is perfect for courtyard wedding venues like Devonshire Terrace. With open spaces where guests can mingle and chat, I can capture lots of natural moments that really show off the personality of your wedding guests, all while basked in natural light and protected from our London weather!
Devonshire Terrace: A Beautiful Outdoor Wedding Venue
I’ve got such a beautiful wedding to share with you all today. Amy and Dom are two of the loveliest people and their summer wedding at Devonshire Terrace, London was a fantastic day. I was so happy to be there to photograph it.
In the morning I met up with the girls at a nearby hotel. There was such a relaxed vibe in the room, everyone was chatting and laughing as they got ready. Bridal prep is a really lovely time for your wedding photography to start, it gives me chance to get to know people before the celebrations really begin and I also get time to photograph those all-important details. The girls helped Amy into her dress and I took the opportunity to get some relaxed photographs of them all together before Dad arrived to escort everyone to the ceremony.
Devonshire Terrace Courtyard Wedding Ceremony
What a venue Devonshire Terrace is! The summer weather was absolutely glorious so the Western Courtyard was the perfect place to hold their wedding ceremony.
Wedding ceremonies typically take place in the courtyard area of Devonshire Terrace. With the atrium room providing cover from the weather, weddings outside are possible even when it’s raining.
Dom was waiting at the top of the aisle when Amy and her Dad arrived. You could see the nerves starting to set in as his best man kept anxiously checking the time. There was nothing to fear though, Amy was bang on time and walked down the aisle on her Dad’s arm with a huge smile on her face.
I was able to photography bride Amy walking down the aisl with her Dad, and to capture the reactions of guests as they seen her in her dress for the first time!
Amy was wearing a simple but stylish A-line dress that she looked stunning in! The dress had pockets, which Amy loved! (perfect for keeping lipstick in for a pre-portrait session top-up).
Amy and Dom couldn’t stop smiling at each other throughout the ceremony and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house when they were declared husband and wife! They walked out together in a cloud of confetti amidst cheers from their guests. The best way to start to married life!
Wedding Portraits in London
The City of London makes for such an amazing backdrop for portraits. I took advantage of the sunshine and we headed out for a stroll around the area to get some couple photos. This is such a great chance for couples to get a moment or two alone. Of course I’m there, but I stay back and with some gentle direction get beautiful portraits before whisking them back to their guests so they could get on with their party.
I loved spending the day with Amy, Dom and their wonderful family and friends. If you’re planning your own Central London wedding then I’d love to hear from you! Head over to the contact page to get in touch.
